The Sales Development Representative plays a critical role in growing the Learning.com business. The main focus of this position is in developing qualified prospects for the sales process through cold calling. The Sales Development Representative is responsible for driving market share and qualifying leads that build pipeline for the sales organization.  A key requirement is to conduct business dealings with prospects/customers in a way that creates a superior prospect/customer experience that will set the stage for future product sales for Learning.com.


  • Making 40-60 calls per day to build and manage lead development pipeline
  • Prospect into school districts via cold-calling, networking, e-mail/e-marketing, and utilizing Internet information sources
  • Articulate and promote Learning.com's value proposition to decision-makers within school districts to assess buying interest.  
  • Qualify all sales leads based upon specific lead qualification criteria definitions
  • Achieve or exceed goal for new business leads and new business pipeline
  • Provide baseline research within targeted accounts to identify key contacts and critical account information prior to prospecting call
  • Learn and demonstrate a fundamental understanding of Learning.com products and clearly articulate capabilities and advantages to prospective customers
  • Contribute to every component of the critical functions associated with fulfilling the sales cycle (forecasting, reporting, customer database maintenance and data entry, correspondence, and communications)
  • Provide weekly activity report to management
  • Proactively continue company product and competitive product and market knowledge via website, online webinars, and marketing information
  • Social Media Monitoring: Engaging with social media platforms, creating alerts on keywords, researching topics and sharing information with individuals responsible for producing the content and responses
  • Update lead, opportunity, and prospect interaction in NetSuite
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:   Individual contributor. 


  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Excellent phone skills, phone etiquette, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to converse with and influence superintendents, principals, technology coordinators, and other personnel in the education industry
  • Knowledge of marketing techniques and databases used in marketing a plus
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong work ethic
  • Solid understanding of social media tools Sense of humor, positive attitude and desire to be part of a team
  • Zero to three years in an Inside Sales Development or Inside Sales role – recent graduates welcome
